Winnie Godfrey

hm_imageWinnie Godfrey's intimately realistic portraits of flowers glow with radiant translucent color and meticulous detail. Fragile, ephemeral, colored and perfumed for seduction, Godfrey's close-ups bring the viewer into intimate proximity to beauty at its most delicate. Godfrey has exhibited throughout North America, with museum shows in Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and Florida. She won the Flora Exhibition Award of Excellence at the Chicago Botanic Garden, and the first prize out of 4,500 entries in the Artist's Magazine Floral Competition. She has also produced a series of figurative painting of highland indigenous people in Guatemala, recently shown at the Organization of American States in Washington, DC.
